Gators Sweep Series with New Hampstead

The Ware County Gators have won both Region Series against 2-AAAAA Statesboro and New Hampstead and take on top ranked Wayne County Monday in Jesup. Below are game summaries of their three game series against New Hampstead played during the Spring Break.

 

Game Three of Series

 

Three Ware County Gators Pitchers Team Up In Shutout Victory Against New Hampstead

 

Ware County Gators defeated New Hampstead 5-0 on Friday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jacob Hendrix struck out Robert Bovee to finish off the game.

Ware County Gators got on the board in the second inning when Derrin Cox lined out, driving in a run.

A single by Jacob Gilkey in the first inning was a positive for New Hampstead.

Jake Manders led things off on the rubber for Ware County Gators. He allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Jared McKinney started the game for New Hampstead. He lasted six innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out six and walking one.

Ware County Gators saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Caleb Stewartand Acy Paulk all collected multiple hits for Ware County GatorsPaulk and Stewart each collected two hits to lead Ware County Gators.

Coleman Throws Shutout As Ware County Gators Defeats New Hampstead

 

Coleman Tanner shut down New Hampstead, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Ware County Gators to a 10-0 victory on Friday

Ware County Gators got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Ware County Gators.

Ware County Gators scored five runs in the fifth inning. Cole Andreoli and Demarco Gibson all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

A single by Jacob Gilkey in the first inning was a positive for New Hampstead.

Tanner was on the mound for Ware County Gators. He went six innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out four.

Orlando Carter got the start for New Hampstead. He lasted two innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out four. Gilkey threw three and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Ware County Gators saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Tanner and Jake Manders all managed multiple hits for Ware County GatorsManders and Tanner each collected two hits to lead Ware County GatorsWare County Gators was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Caleb Stewart made the most plays with five.

Ware County Gators Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over New Hampstead

 

Ware County Gators jumped out to an early lead over New Hampstead and took home a 7-4 victory on Monday. Ware County Gators scored on a error in the first inning, a error in the second inning, and a single by Jake Manders in the second inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, Ware County Gators tied things up at one when an error scored one run for Ware County Gators.

Ware County Gators pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored one run for Ware County Gators and Manders singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Ware County Gators tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Ware County Gators scored its runs on an RBI single by Jacob Hendrix.

Derrin Cox toed the rubber for Ware County Gators. He lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out 12 and walking zero.

Jacob Gilkey got the start for New Hampstead. He allowed three hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out three. Dewayne Sanderson threw one inning in relief.

Manders led Ware County Gators with three hits in four at bats.
