The Ware County Gators kicked off the 2017 Football Season last night by hosting the Camden County Wildcats in a pre-season scrimmage for both schools. Both teams got the opportunity to test drive new schemes and get young players on the field who are getting their first taste of the Friday night lights.
Both defenses played very well at times. Camden scored both touchdowns on big plays and Ware kept themselves in the game by blocking a punt and then punching in a touchdown with Senior Acy Paulk grapping a fourth down reception from quarter back Jeremiah O'Hara. Jordan Turner and Raja Bradley showed glimpes of speed and agility and led the team in rushing. Senior Tre Cobb did a good job of anchoring the linebacker position.
The game provided good quality film for the coaches to evaluate and share with the players as they now begin preparation for Glynn Academy to kickoff the season in two weeks in the Marshes of Glynn.
Tickets for the Ware vs. Glynn game will arrive next week and their availability will be announced when they arrive.
