Gators Make Pirates Walk The Plank In Spring Game

The 2018 Ware County Gator Football Team concluded Spring Practice with an impressive 48-7 victory over the 6A Brunswick Pirates. The spring game starts the beginning of the upcoming 2018 Football Season as the Gators will now begin working this summer to get ready for the season opener against Pine Ridge High School from Florida on August 17th. The Gators will start things off against Camden County on Thursday, August 9th in a season opening scrimmage.

The Gators wasted little time setting the tone for game against Brunswick as they raced to a 34-0 first quarter lead and added another score in the second quarter to take a 41-0 halftime lead. The Gators and the Pirates traded scores in the third period as the Varsity built a 48-7 lead before handing the fourth quarter duties over to the upcoming 9th graders. The game ended with the Gators on top 48-21.

Offense wins games, but it's the defense that wins championships. The Gators held the Pirates to 33 yards rushing and just 131 yards passing as they scored three defensive touchdowns to put the game out of reach early.
