Ware Advances to Round Two Match Up with Warner Robins

The Ware County Gators advanced to the second round of the GHSA State Football Playoffs with a 35-7 victory over Riverdale Friday night in the Swamp. The Gators jumped on top of 21-0 in the first half and added 14 points in the fourth quarter to earn their second round match up with top ranked Warner Robins.

For the second week in a row, the Gators scored on the first play from scrimmage as Jeremiah O'Hara took a tunnel screen pass from Thomas Castellanos (5/12 for 130 yds - 1 TD) to the house. Castellanos scored the first of his three rushing touchdowns (21 rushes for 140 yds - 3 TD) on the next possession. Cree jones scored the only other touchdown for the Gators in the fourth quarter on a 4 yard run. Henry Bates had a great night kicking extra points.
