The Gator Junior Varsity football team traveled down to Brunswick to play the Glynn Academy Red Terrors on Thursday night. The first half was a defensive battle. The teams traded possessions as each defense continued to make stops. The Gators were sacked in their own endzone to make the score 2-0 Glynn Academy. Following a long drive, the Red Terrors kicked a long field goal, as time expired, to make the score 5-0 Glynn at the half. The Gators received the second half kick and struck Raiden Kennedy on a long pass to make the score 6-5. Following Joseph Hampton's kick, the score was 7-5 with Ware on top. The defense stopped the Red Terror offense, and Tywon Walker connected with Raiden Kennedy again. After the PAT, the score was 14-5 Gators. The defense stopped Glynn again, and the Gator offense put together a long scoring drive that ended with Jett Justice tiptoeing down the sideline with a pass from Tywon Walker. The extra point was missed and the score stood at 20-5 Gators. The Red Terrors responded with a long scoring drive themselves making the score 20-12 Ware. After a short offensive drive, the Gators had to punt back to the Red Terrors. Glynn Academy ate the clock and scored with 30 seconds remaining to make the score 20-18 Gators. The Gator defense bowed their necks and stopped the Red Terrors on the two point try. The ensuing onside kick was unsuccessful, and the Gators kneeled the ball to complete the win. Congratulations to the players on a hard earned victory. Go Gators!
