Boys Basketball Teams Split with Coffee

The Coffee High Trojans and the Gators battled to a one point first quarter with the Trojans holding on to a 8-7 lead going into the second. From that point on the Trojans were red hot from the floor pouring in 27 points in the second quarter to take a 35-22 lead in the locker room at the half. The two teams traded baskets in the second half, but the lead was too much for the Gators to overcome. The Trojans won the game 74-47.

Rock Taylor led the Gators with 12 points while DJ Harris chipped in 11. Byron McKelvin added 8, Jeremiah O'Hara 6 anShemar Dyett and Zack Swinson each added 2 points.

The Gators will travel to Statesboro on Friday to take on the Blue Devils at 7:30.


JV RESULTS:  Ware County 41  Coffee 37

The Ware County JV Gators continued to win as they thumped Coffee 41-37 Tuesday night in Douglas. Coffee took a 10-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 19-14 at the half. The Trojans still led the game at the end of the third, but Ware out scored the Trojans 13-5 down the stretch to steal the win.

Dominick Williams led the Gators with 14 points while Cameron Brown and Jaylin Melvin added 8 and 7 points respectively. Cletwan Scrivin, Jolyn James and TJ Denson each added 4 points.

The JV Boys will travel to Statesboro at 5:00 on Friday.
