Statesboro Edges Ware 3-1 in Boys Soccer Action

Ware dropped a tough region match to visiting Statesboro. Statesboro struck first, with just under 30 minutes to play in the first half, to take the lead 1-0. Ware would answer when Julio Nataren took a wide pass from Yerlin Guardado, and cut it back inside, shooting and scoring. With 18 minutes left, Statesboro converted a penalty kick from a called handball in the box, to take a 2-1 lead. The score would remain 2-1 going into the half. The second half was played pretty evenly, as both teams created some scoring opportunities, but neither were able to convert. Statesboro finally converted at the 17 minute mark, scoring off of a deflected corner kick. Ware would continue to push to close the 3-1 gap, but was unable to.

Ware will continue region play this week when they travel to South Effingham on Thursday.
