Gators Open Rifle Season With Their 82nd Consecutive Victory

The Ware County Rifle Team opened up their defense of back to back State Titles by firing past Bradwell Institute 1176-925 at the Rifle Complex on New Mexico Avenue. Last nights victory was the 82nd consecutive victory for the Gators.

Lacy Jewell fired perfect scores in the Prone and Kneeling position to post a state qualifying score of 297. Lacy is the defending individual GHSA State Champion. She has hopes of repeating and helping her team win their third consecutive State Title. Ware had four shooter qualify for the State Championship Event last night as Tyler Hanson (294), Ben Smith (293) and Bryce Young (292) all shot qualifying scores in the season's first match.

Other great scores were Jacob Hatcher (289), Jacob Holmes (287), Dalton Vining (273), Tori Mosely (286), Cole Howard (285), Jordon Woodard (279), Gaspar Yasmeen (280) Luke Steedley (279) and Sam Haynes (279).

The Gators will host Benedictine at 5:00 today at the range. Come out and support the Gators!
