Savannah Jeffers Drives In Four To Seal Ware County Gators Varsity's Victory Over South Effingham
Savannah Jeffers was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead Ware past South Effingham 9-3 on Thursday. Jeffers drove in runs on a single in the third and a double in the fourth.
South Effingham got on the board in the first inning when Harley Pinette grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the third inning, Ware tied things up at three when Jeffers singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The Lady Gators pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Harris singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Jeffers doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs, and Trull homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Trull was credited with the victory for Ware. She surrendered three runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out one and walking zero.
Haylee Johnson took the loss for South Effingham. She lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and nine runs while striking out one.
The Lady Gators socked one home run on the day. Trull had a dinger in the fourth inning.
