Spencer Hoyt and Kaylah Youngblood Lead Gator Swim Team

The Ware County Swim Team participated in the Dean Farrell Invitational on Friday December 1, 2017. We want to congratulate Spencer Hoyt on making state times in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.61 and 100 Beast with a time of 1:05.20. The Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Paul Crawford, Spencer Hoyt, Hunter Hooks and Mac Johnson finished in 2nd Place barely missing state cut by 1.3 seconds with a time of 1:52.30. Joe Robertson finished 5th and Caleb Crawford finished 6th in the 200 Yard Freestyle making their personal best times. Hunter Hooks finished 5th in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a personal best time of 1:04.12 and finished 2nd in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:10.42. Freshman Paul Crawford finished 4th in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 57.77 and 5th in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:11.62. The Boys 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Paul Crawford, Hunter Hooks, Joe Robertson and Spencer Hoyt finished 2nd with a time of 4:20.40.

Kaylah Youngblood led the way for the girls team finishing 1st in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:19.16 and 3rd in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:18.88. Laura McCarthy finished 6th in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:27.41. The Girls 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Kaylah Youngblood, Laura McCarthy, Casey Brennan and Imani Johnson finished 2nd with a time of 5:15.31.

We want to congratulate all the swimmers on making personal best times in this swim meet! The hard work and dedication is paying off as we look forward to having more state qualifying times this year.
