Swim Team Shines in RHHS Pumpkin Plunge

 The Gator Swim Team continued their season as they traveled to Savannah, GA to participate in the RHHS Pumpkin Plunge Swim Meet. Seventeen teams competed in 22 events during Saturday's meet with the WCHS boys' team earning the 2nd highest number of overall points during the meet. Spencer Hoyt qualified for the GHSA Swimming State Championship meet in February by swimming a 1:06.56 and placing 1st in the 100 yard breaststroke event. Hunter Hooks placed 2nd in the 200 yard individual medley event earning the team a total of 30 points between his two individual events. Imani Johnson swam her first 200 yard individual medley during Saturday's meet and earned the team 12 points toward their overall score. Caleb Crawford placed 5th in the 500 yard freestyle event earning the team a total of 23 points between his two individual events. Brantley Good dropped 12 seconds in the boy's 100 yard backstroke.

The swimmer of the meet for this week is Spencer Hoyt with a total of 34 points earned for the team and a GHSA state qualifying time!
