Ware County Swim Team Competes Well in Douglas

The Gator Swim Team traveled to Douglas this past weekend to participate in the Coffee Trojan Invitational. Ten teams competed for top honors in the swim meet. The boys' team placed second overall, and the girls' placed fifth. The combined team placement was fourth overall. Spencer Hoyt continued to dominate the pool with another state qualifying time (2:08.08) in the 200 yd. Individual Medley event. Spencer has qualified for a total of 3 individual events and 2 relay events! Paul Ryan Crawford, Hunter Hooks, Joe Robertson, and Spencer Hoyt swam an impressive 3:42.26 in the 400 Free Relay event and captured a spot in the upcoming GHSA Swimming & Diving State Meet. Kate Good and Evan Smoak swam their first 500 yd. Freestyle with Kate taking a 3rd place finish in the event. Sandra Durham, Sarah Beth James, Luke Corbett, Caleb Crawford, Arthur Kallay, Micah Smith, and Philip Suess all posted some personal best times at the meet. Congratulations to our 400 Free Relay Team for being the swimmers of the meet this week!

 

The Gators will be swimming in Savannah (Friday) and St. Mary's (Saturday) this week.
