The Ware County Lady Gator tennis team dropped a close match today against Appling County by a team score of 2-3.
At first singles, Morgan Porter lost to Corissa Bass 0-6, 0-6.
At second singles, Annabeth Hatfield hung tough, it lost to Caroline Rentz 4-6, 4-6.
At third singles, Megan Tyre played a good match, but came up just short against Katelene Davis in a third set tiebreak 2-6, 6-4, 6-10.
The first doubles team of Jayme Russell and Kiersten Moye continued their dominance by beating Lexi Hughes and Hannah Bennett 6-3, 6-2.
At second doubles, Maggie Tyre and Haley Cannon notched their first win together by beating Ray Stipe and Amanda Stalvey 6-3, 5-7 and 10-3 in the third set tiebreak.

Bailey Tatum lost a close marathon three set match at the number two singles position by a score of (2,6)(6,4)6-10
Brock Anderson lost in the third singles position in straight sets (3,6)(4,6).
Number one doubles duo Dawson Goddard and Gabion Hardy lost in straight sets (2,6)(2,6), while the number two doubles team of Maddox Hall and Ladue Raulerson lost a close two set thriller (6,7)5-7 (5,7).
The JV Gator Netters will be in action at The Swamp March 8 in a tournament against Lowndes and Camden. The Varsity Gators' next match will be on the road at New Hampstead.
