Tennis Teams Split with Berrien

Girls Results:

The Ware County Lady Gator Tennis team dropped their match tonight against Berrien County by a score of 0-5.

At first singles, Maggie Tyre lost 0-6, 0-6. Second singles Libby Hughes played an excellent match but came up short 4-6, 2-6. Kennedy Brice battled at third singles but fell 0-6, 1-6.

In doubles action, Sophia Choudhri and Jodi Highsmith played really well together but lost 3-6, 6-7 (2-7). Finally, Ralicia Green and Sydney Bokor fell 4-6, 0-6.

Overall, I loved the way the girls battled, they just came up short against a strong opponent. Our next match is Tuesday, in Nahunta, against Brantley County.

Boys Results:

Brock Anderson won (6,1)(6,2) at number 1 singles while Ladue Raulerson won a marathon three set match at number 2 singles.  Raulerson's final score was (6,4)(4,6)10-3.  Andrew Jones dominated at the 3 singles position with a (6,1)(6,2) victory.

Doubles split their matches.  Number one doubles Xavier Huff and Joseph Hampton won in a three set match with a score of (6,4)(5,7)10-4.  The number two doubles team of Parker Wildes and Parker Jones were the only loss on the day for the Gators.  They lost in straight sets (6,7)3-7(4,6).  The Gators travel to Brantley next Tuesday Feb 12th for their next match up against the Herons.
