The Ware County Lady Gators punched their ticket to the GHSA State Basketball Playoffs by dunking South Effingham 77-46. After posting just 25 points in the Wednesday night game against Statesboro, the Lady Gators filled it up tonight. Ware trailed 9-1 early but muscled their way to a 31-25 lead at the half. The Lady Gators outscored the Lady Mustangs in the third 20-14 and then took the governor off and outscored South 26-7 in the fourth to get the win.
Three senior Lady Gators scored in double figures. Mataea Boyd poured in 22 points and Justyce Eason and Shouveir Spaulding scored 17 and 15 point respectively. Korianne Yawn added 6 points, DeMya Gibson added 5 points, I'Daja Davis and Chyna Carter added 4 points and Latreona Holmes scored 3 points.
The Lady Gators will travel to Starr's Mill on Friday. Game time to be announced.
