On Saturday, Ware County travelled to the Chateau Elan to compete in the Gwinnett Open. Ware County finished in fifth place overall in the 15 team tournament field. The tournament was won by Calhoun with 94 points, Colquitt County finished second with 80 points, Cambridge finished with 79 points, Peachtree Ridge finished with 71, and Ware County was fifth with 66 points.
The tournament used the modified Stableford Format. It was 12 points for a double eagle, eight points for an eagle, four for birdie, two for a par, and one point for a bogey. Heather Kipniss from Cambridge won the individual title with 43 points.
For Ware County, Sutton Rollins had 31 points, Kylee Wheeler finished with 28, Lauren Callahan with 7 points, and Grace Link had 1 point. Sutton Rollins finished sixth overall individually, and Kylee Wheeler finished in eleventh overall. There were sixty girls competing in the tournament.
Ware County will travel to Jekyll Island on Tuesday to play a five team match. The match begins at 3:30
