Kylee Wheeler Wins Individual State Golf Title

The Ware County Golf Team finished 3rd overall yesterday in the GHSA State Golf Championships held in Carrolton, Ga. Senior Kylee Wheeler stood atop the Leader Board after Monday's opening round firing a 76. After Tuesday's round of 79, Wheeler remianed on top tied for the individual State Title with Starr's Mill's Jocelyn Gao. Ware's Junior Sutton Rollins finished as individula State Runner-up by carding a pair of 79's. Wheeler and Rollins along with teammates Grace Link and Lauren Callahan combined to fire a 510 which earned the Lady Gators a third place finish in the State. Sutton Rollins was the low medalist and individual Region Champion at the Region 5A Tournament held three weeks ago at the Okefenokee Country Club.

This is the second time in the last three years that the Lady Gators have had the Low Medalist at the State Championship. Ware's Megan Carter was the individual State Title winner two seasons ago that helped lead the Lady Gator's to the State Championship Title.

Ware Count'ys Levi Jewell competed well for the second year in a row as he represented the boys team by carding a 80 in the opening round and then firing a 75 on Day 2.
