Sutton Rollins and Kylee Wheeler have been named to the Georgia All State Golf Team. The Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association vote on an all state golf team in each classification each year. This year Rollins and Wheeler were voted on the team by the coaches in class AAAAA.
Kylee Wheeler was also awarded the Player of the Year in AAAAA in the state of Georgia. This is the first player in the Ware County School history to get this honor. Kylee Wheeler tied for State Champion low medalist this year. She also finished 4th in the Area 1 Golf Tournament. Kylee had several top 10 finishes this year in tournaments all over the state.
Sutton Rollins finished with the 2nd lowest score in the state tournament this year. Sutton was the Area 1 golf tournament low medalist. Sutton had several top 10 finishes this year in tournaments all over the state. "I think this is a wonderful accomplishment by both players. Megan Carter was voted on the team two years ago for Ware County. I think when coaches put you on the team, it says a lot about you as a player. Even though we didn't win a team state championship this year, I think it is great that our kids are promoting the Ware County Golf program so well.
These are great honors for our players." Kylee Wheeler will be competing next week in the North/South All Star Golf Tournament in Moultrie at Sunset Hills Country Club. This is a Ryder Cup format where the North plays the South. There will be 12 boys and 8 girls competing on each team. There is a practice round on Tuesday, best ball matches on Wednesday, and singles matches on Thursday. Kylee and Sutton will also be competing in the junior girls championship in Statesboro at the Georgia Southern Course on June 19th, 20th, and 21st.
