Lady Gator Volleyball Team Getting Better in the Summer

The 2017 Lady Gators are getting it in during the summer. Several girls are participating in non-mandatory practices in order to better their skills. Yesterday, the Lady Gators played a couple of scrimmage games against the Tift County Lady Blue Devils and the Appling County Lady Pirates. The Lady Gators and the Lady Blue Devils have several new young players this year, and this scrimmage allowed us to practice game situations. However, the Lady Pirates, are starting up a new volleyball program at Appling County High School. This scrimmage gave them an opportunity to see how the game is played, and learn some drills to take back to their practice. Overall, the scrimmages were helpful competition for all three teams to use to better their skills before the season. The Lady Gators will travel to Tifton for another scrimmage on Monday.

On Monday, the Lady Gators will host their 1st Lady Gators Volleyball Camp! This camp will give girls 4 days of instruction on the core fundamentals of volleyball which include passing, serving, attacking, defense, and ball control. The camp will be instructed by the Ware County coaching staff and volleyball players. The cost includes instructions in the sport of volleyball, communication and team-building skills, a camp T-shirt, and a pizza party on Thursday! Note: The VB CAMP will be held at WAYCROSS MIDDLE SCHOOL and the cost is $35. Several young ladies have signed up for early registration, however, you may still sign up on the first day of the camp.
